Written information about allergies and diseases
List of all medications (also medication without a prescription) or a medication passport if you have one
Name and contact details of a relative
Personal items sleepwear, toiletries, dressing gown, non-slip slippers, mobile phone with charger, glasses, hearing aid, prosthesis or walking stick, tracksuit and sport shoes, if mobility training forms part of your treatment (swim wear and swimming cap for underwater therapy).
A small sum of cash, no valuables, please!

Doctors must inform you about the risks and benefits of a treatment in a timely, understandable and comprehensive manner, so that you can understand the medical treatment.
Some hospitals offer support by professional interpreting or telephone interpreting services during the doctor consultation. Please ask for it!
You may decide for yourself if you want the proposed treatment. You are entitled to take time to think or refuse treatment.
You have the right to a second professional medical opinion
You may view your medical record and may (for a fee) have a copy (including x-rays).
You have a right to privacy - even in shared rooms.
Hospital staff may not pass on personal details and medical information (obligation of secrecy), not even to relatives.
Information on your disease and treatment options may only be passed on upon your express wish. Designate a confidant. If children up to 10 years are treated in hospital, a person may accompany them (for a fee to cover expenses).
Patients’ rights are stipulated in the Salzburg Hospital Act under § 21.

Inform your doctor about your medical history, your habits, life style and any medicationor homeremedies you take regularly or occasionally.
If the decision is made on a therapy, please follow the doctor’s instructions carefully. Immediately report if you are intolerant to a drug.
